Positions are open to all residents of the Town and Village of LeRoy.
Letters of intent should be submitted to James Farnholz, Town Supervisor, 48 Main Street, LeRoy, NY 14482.
“Around Town”
As the Holidays approach I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Thank you to all the people who help to keep the Town and Village running smoothly. I especially want to thank everyone in the highway department for keeping our roads clear and safe during the winter months.
After a very long and frustrating 5-year process it appears that we will be going out to bid on phase 1 of water district 12. This is the northwest quarter of the town. Bids are to be tentatively opened in late January with work commencing in late February or early March. As many of you know, this project has been unbelievably slow with one delay after another from engineering to government funding and approval. There does seem to be light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for your patience during this process.
In January everyone will be receiving their tax bill. Keep in mind this encompasses 3 taxes, the town, county and fire districts. The town tax rate this year will be $.83 per 1000 dollars of assessed value. That is an increase of $.03 from 2025, but a reduction of $.23 per 1000 dollars from 2024 to offset reassessment values.
For myself and the Town Board I want to wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season.
